The Royal Airforce Theatrical Association exists to "improve the quality of drama within the RAF". It is an association of all the individual RAF clubs and is open to serving and ex members of the RAF and civilians associated with RAF clubs.
RAFTA arranges course, drama competitions, play writing competitions and an annual one-act play festival.
Every two years RAFTA also puts on a major production at a commercial theatre, in 1994 this production was Mike Harding's "Last Tango in Whitby" which was performed for a week at the Theatre Royal in Lincoln during september.
The RAF Brize Norton Theatre Club is an RAF theatre club located on the RAF Brize Norton Station in Carterton, west Oxfordshire. This club puts on pantos, revues and plays. The club includes both service and civilian members and puts on its productions in the station theatre.
